PACS falls in district softball final

The team lost 5–0.

The Philadelphia Academy Charter School softball team fell, 5–0, to Conwell-Egan on Thursday in the District 12 Class 2A championship game at Archbishop Ryan’s Andy Hafele Memorial Field.

PACS has lost to Conwell-Egan in the last four district title games.

Despite the loss, PACS qualified for the PIAA playoffs. The Chargers will face District 11 champion Minersville, the defending state champion, on Monday at a time and site to be determined.

The Chargers, who lost in the Philadelphia Public League semifinals, got pretty good pitching from Alison Kelble.

Brianna Donaghy went 3-for-3 for PACS. Brianna Higgins had two hits, including a double. ••
